Saint Corona: Defender of Plagues

Saint Corona was martyred in Syria in 165 AD. She is known to Catholics as a Saint to ward off plagues. Corona was married to a Roman soldier stationed in Damascus, Syria at the time some say it was Victor who Corona tended treatment to heal Victor’s wounds. He was (later martyred) for his faith and evangelism.

Syrians at this time in History, did not appreciate Rome’s political ideaology thrust upon them.

Corona was only 16 years old and martyred. Corona was tied to two bowed palm trees and her body was torn in half when the palm trees were unfastened.

She is still venerated in Austria which has just closed down like Italy due to the spread of the Corona virus.  Her memorial day is Nov. 11th.

Get well soon to all infected by the Corvid19.
